brother-sister dances

Hi, my father passed away and i have asked my two older brothers to give me away- i know the older one is supposed to do it but there's no way i could have one and not both, so i also wanted to dance with both of them instead of a father-daughter dance. Should i do two separate songs and dances with them or should i do one song and switch in between? Speaking of...does anyone know any good sibling songs??

Re: brother-sister dances

  • If you're going to do a "spotlight" dance, where everyone will be watching, I would do one song and split it between the two of them, or ask the DJ to cut two different songs down to about one minute each ... as sweet as the sentiment is, people get bored watching multiple special dances. If you want a whole song for each of them, personally I would just not announce that it's a brother-sister dance. I would tell each brother ahead of time what the song will be, so that when it plays he knows it's his special time with you. A lot of people like "I Hope You Dance." I think Ben E. King's "Stand by Me" is a nice song as well. My mom had her two older brothers escort her at my parents' wedding because my grandfather had died a few years earlier, so your idea isn't at all uncommon. I don't know if they danced together at the reception, I've never asked.
