she apologised for hanging up on him, said she wanted it to all just be over, continued to write me e mails about how awful we both are, how she and her husband do SO MUCH for us and that now all she's oging to worry about while in the bahama's is her cat being all alone in a big dark hosue by herself (let me tell you, this cat would LOVE that) regardless of the fact that FI said he would go and take care of it.As of this morning FI got an awesome e mail about how hard she has it (having to go visit her mother once a week in a retirement community), and throws other stuff that happened a few years ago that were really tough for her in our faces, as switching our hosue to her house for cat care is really relevant. She also accused FI of not having any loyalty or love for her anymore. So, so far, so good!

new update : she e mailed him saying she never used hardships to make us feel guilty, just explaining why she "over reacts to certain situations". It's all just one big mess of a situation that shouldn't have lasted more then 2 minutes of "oh why do you want ot keep her here? Oh really, okay that sounds like it will work"thanks for asking though!

FMIL asked me a few months ago to take care of her cat, I said yes.She was over Saturday, said she'd drop her off x day, pick her up y day. The next day FI called saying that he would just go there to care for her, as he's worried about how she'll be with the other cats/new puppy. MIL went off the deep end... saying we are horrible people who have ruined her bahama's vacation by doing this to her, backing away from the responsibility we promised her, she went hard core into FI, called me bitching about "how dare I" that they do so much for us, and we can't even do this for them (FI was still VERY willing to go every other day to the house to clean litter box/feed/play). She's still flipping, now because FI didn't call her after he "hurt her feelings" saying he's not loyal or loves her anymore... how she has it so hard and how dare he blah blah.

Drama!First, I don't think it is good to move a cat for a short period of time when you have someone who is willing to feed them and spend time with them everyday.Going to new surroundings is scary to them.Whenever we go away, I have family come over to feed them and they spend a little time with them each day. I know some people who can leave their cats for a few days but my boys love interaction with people. I try to avoid bringing them to someone at all cost - especially someone with other animals. Cats don't interact as well as dogs can.

Haha Sam, I know this... and you know this... and FI knows this, and I'm guessing most other people know this. That is what makes this whole DRAMA filled situation that much more interesting... we were trying to do what was best for the cat, not just stick a litter box and food up in our guest room and close the door for 7 days (that would be awful!). We tried explaining why this way would be better, she just went off the deep end.

she'll deal with it.. and get over with it.  Why are mom's so ridiculous with their sons?  And I can't imagine dropping my cat at someone else's house for any length of time. It would mess up his daily routine of sleeping on my pillow followed by sleeping on the top of the couch, followed by sleeping in the sun by the balcony door... what if they don't have a balcony! :)

Haha C&D so funny you say that! My cat sleeps at dif. parts of my house during dif. times depending on where the sun is :-). Not to mention, her cat, HATES my cat, we've tried to introduce them before. She just hisses and bats.
