Wedding Day Highlights and Regrets?

There seem to be many recently married brides on this board and I would love to get your insight.  What are some key highlights and great memonets of your wedding day?  What are some regrets (small or big) that you have of how the day played out?   My wedding is in 2 weeks (OMG!) and I want to make sure I have tied up all the loose ends.

thanks,

  • I'd check the wedding recap and withdrawal board, that might be what you're looking for.
  • Well, I've got a whole recap section in my bio.  But honestly, the best advice I have for you is that all the things you are now stressing about will not matter.  Our wedding had enough things go wrong that our friend who did the video created a bloopers video for us--and it was still perfect.

    Do you have:
    • a partner?
    • an officiant?
    • a marriage license?
    • at least two people who can be witnesses?
If so, your wedding will be perfect.  If not, I'd recommend acquiring those things in the next two weeks.
  • The only thing I would say I regret is not having a videographer.

As far as highlights: our reveal was definitely one of them.  Also we did a private last dance at the end of the night while our guests lined up for the exit.  It was definitely the best part of the night for both of us.

Just relax and enjoy yourself and don't let any small thing that goes wrong (and it will) spoil the day.  In the end, none of it matters.

Love what you wrote 2dBride.  I'm getting married in 4 days, and I had a little period of worrying (oddly) over all the things that I might have missed that I didn't even know I needed, if that makes sense.  I've pretty much come around to your way of thinking, though, and I'm starting to realize that all of that stuff just doesn't matter.  At the end of the day, I'll be married to an amazing guy; that's what really matters.  And when you add in great food and awesome cake, that's all just gravy.
