Hello ladies! We are having our wedding in Islamorada and are planning on throwing a huge party upon our return for 300500 people. The only room that can handle the size I need is a big bar/supper club that is decorated in wood paneling, hunter green walls and a white ceiling. Several rooms are actually white walls but have dark green chairs and wood tables. Our wedding colors are aqua, black and white with splashes of pink. My main question is how can I transform the room with lighting to give it a beautiful blue/aqua color wash? I'm hoping this will hide some of the existing colors and allow our decor to blend better as well as give it a really unique feeling.
Since our main wedding reception will be in Islamorada I'm looking to do this on a budget. So...what options do I have to turn a bar blue?
1 Uplights? Super expensive 2500 to have a company do it. I'm hoping to keep the lighting budget under 750. Has anyone done it themselves? We're looking for a full color wash...not just spotlights in random places. LED or Par cans?
2. If I swapped all the lightbulbs in the place our with blue bulbs would that give it a blue color or just look weird?
3. Would aqua paper lanterns be enough light paired with candles in our centerpieces or would they make it too dark?
Any brilliant ideas on lighting as I'm a complete newbie at lighting!!! Tips on what to get and deals on then would be greatly appreciated!!
