What Was I Thinking??

I planned for the bridesmaids to wear DB's pool and the tablecloths to be tiffany/aqua as well. It wasn't until about a week ago that I realized: the bridesmaids dresses are either going to clash with the tablecloths or they'll blend in with the tablecloths. I don't want either! What should I do? I was really set on having the blue tablecloths, but the bridesmaids have already bought their dresses (so I can't change their dresses to red). The wedding colors are tiffany/aqua and red. The centerpieces will have red roses. I have considered having the bridal party sit at white tables with blue sashes on their chairs. It would give the tables a sort of "reserved" look to them, while the others will remain the same. The head table will be white. Does anyone have any ideas? How can I fix this?

Re: What Was I Thinking??

  • Two shades of blue shouldn't clash, but it doesn't matter if your BM dresses and tablecloths clash anyhow.

As I told FMIL when she started talking about matching the tablecloths to the BM dresses, I'm not going to be asking for pictures of the BM dresses with the tablecloths anyhow - they don't need to match the reception decorations.
  • IF you are really worried about them clashing buy table runners in another color to tone it down a bit. I'm sure it will look great once everything is together on the table cloth and you dont see just a big colorful piece of fabric.
  • If anyone points out that your bridesmaids don't match the linens, I'll personally buy you a drink.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • Personally, I would be more worried that my girls hate the color of the bm dress. I have yet to see a group of people look good in that color.
  • Well it's too late to change the color now. Plus, I have seen three out of the five bridesmaids try the dresses on in the pool color, and they've all looked fine.
  • It will be fine. Pool is a beautiful color & I've seen many many people look great in that color. I think it will turn out just fine. If you think about it how much of the time are they going to be actually sitting at the table anyways.
  • Thanks, @kayd. I'm beginning to feel much better about the whole thing. I just had a moment where I was freaking out.
