?s about table linen laundering?

I've borrowed white tablecloths and bought organza overlays also. I know that I need to wash the tablecloths because they were used before - but is it pointless to try to iron them? And/or the organza overlays? Because it seems like a lot of trouble to try to get the folds out, only to have to fold them back up for moving them, probably creating the folds/wrinkles again.

What did you ladies do with your linens? Am I putting too much thought into this?

  • Instead of folding them you could see if you can scrounge up some wrapping paper tubes or buy some PVC pipe (or something like that) and instead of folding the tablecloths you could wrap them around the tubes...thus eliminating creases.

<div>That is a good idea! I actually have tons of mailing tubes & empty Christmas wrapping paper tubes (don't ask why I hoard things like these). Though the tablecloths are 120", but even if I have to fold them in half to roll them, that's only 1 crease instead of 20 or so. Thanks!</div>
  • One crease down the center of a fine tablecloth is acceptable. Rolling tablecloths was how the "best" "old houses" did it.
