Hey all! I am getting married in a very small town and booked one of the very FEW venues for the wedding last February when I got engaged. I was at the florist this past weekend to put my deposit down to hold the date for this summer and she informed me that the owner of the venue is VERY strict on decorations and freaked OUT on my florist recently for using scotch tape on their cheap foldable tables. The owner wanted the florist to come back at midnight when the wedding was over to remove the tape. I don't know how much of this is true as people in my town really like to gossip and she seems pretty nice to me...but here's my real dilemma. I REALLY wanted to do a simple ceiling canopy, but I'm afraid she'll get mad and make me take it down or something the day of the wedding. We get the venue the day before to decorate and I figured as long as we didn't harm anything it'd be okay. That's what the deposit is for right? I was also planning on having lots of lights to set a very romantic mood, but I'm not sure how to do that WITHOUT tape. I'm thinking there is a hole in this story, but does anyone have ideas on how to do a ceiling canopy without actually hanging fabric on the ceiling or from light fixtures? Any ideas are appreciated! Thanks!
