Wedding Reception Forum

brunch

IDoes anyone have experience in having a 10 AM wedding at a country club; serving a buffet of biscuits and gravy; fresh fruit; scrambled eggs; ham; coffee barl wedding cake and mimosas and then dancing?

Also, if you have a a dance and alcohol, do you have to feed the guests dinner? What time "signals" it's just a cocktail party with dancing? Or do you just state it on the invitation?

Re: brunch

  • On your reception card, or on the invite, I would call the reception a "brunch reception" so that guests know they'll be fed. No need to serve dinner since you're serving a meal at lunch time. It's fine to have drinks and dancing in the afternoon but CMGr is right that a lot of hip hop songs may seem out of place. That doesn't mean you can't have any fast songs though! I think your wedding sounds lovely :)
  • Sounds good to me. We're considering something similar.
