I am wondering how other brides went about their meal options... I have always been under the impression that, for a plated meal, guests tend to get an option: chicken, beef, pork, whatever. B/G pick 2 or 3 dishes to host and guests can choose from that.
However, my venue offers not only this option, but an option to do a "combo" platter of chicken AND beef (filet mignon and chicken breast in one of two sauces; we have yet to do a tasting to determine which sauce would be offered). It is $10/pp more to do the combo plate, but would save the hassle of "who ordered what" and my mom (who is paying) and FI are leaning towards the latter.
I don't know what exactly my concern is about doing a combo plate, but I've never seen it done before - so I guess I'm worried guests are going to find it odd that they had no choice, but are being given two meats.
FTR - we will have a vegan option (at least 2 of FI's family members are vegan) for those who request it and a kid's option, which I believe is chicken fingers & mac-n-cheese.
