Color Scheme!!

Hi,

I was hoping for opinions on my color ideas.  I wanted colors that were really clean and modern, but my venue is more traditional.  I decided to try to mesh the two styles.

My dress is a cool-toned ivory with silver accents.
My bridesmaids are in a gunmetal gray tea length dress.
Guys are wearing black/white/hints of gunmetal gray.
The reception hall has gold chiavari chairs and gold chandeliers.

I was thinking of using silver, gold, gray and ivory as colors throughout the reception decor (linens, centerpieces, etc.).

Do you think this is too busy?  Opinions?  Thanks!!

Re: Color Scheme!!

  • I wouldn't consider the silver and grey separate colors, but other than that it sounds just fine.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

  • I agree with PP that silver and gray are pretty much the same color in a case like this. I think this would make a very elegant color scheme, though I tend to want to add a pop of an accent color in there like a red-orange/copper or patina-green, just to bring attention to certain elements.

    It sounds lovely. :)

  • I think that those colors sound great together!  I also agree with PP that you should find a color used just to Pop certain things.  But even if you don't, I think it still sounds like it will look nice.
