centrepieces that act as favours

i'm stumped on centrepieces for my wedding... overall feel is classy but fun, not stuffy.  candles will be around the hall and tables... had originally wanted a centrepiece that acts as favours too (stacked cupcakes in containers) but then thought it might look tacky.... friend suggested large jars with candy and have takeout boxes on the table and a card inviting guests to fill their boxes with the candy as their favour...but wondered if that might get too pricey with the large candy jars on 10 tables and filling those jars...

dont' care for centrepiece giveaways, so i'm good to rent at a low cost... do you think an edible centrepiece is tacky?  overall i just want candles everywhere...

I am doing tall cylindat vases that will be filled with apples and have flowers on top, as the reception winds down we are going to take the apples out of the centerpieces and then give them as part of our favor which will be carmel apple kits. I am have 2 diffrent centerpieces though this way i don't strip all the tables. Maybe you can dream up something like that  but overall i think that eatable centerpieces are great!
