menus for buffet dinner?

do you write up menus to put at place settings if you're doing a buffet?  i love the look of having menus on the tables- esp since with a buffet you won't have all the plates etc at each place.

any suggestions for wording something like that?

Re: menus for buffet dinner?

  • You can do one at each place setting, one per table, one at the beginning of the buffet, or skip menus entirely.

I prefer when there is at least a menu at the buffet table so I know whether to fill my plate with food towards the beginning of the buffet line or save room for the end.
  • so would you lay it out like a regular menu?  should it just say "menu" or "buffet menu" or...  my brain is broken at this point.  haha

  • we did menus. I was so proud of how they came out. Not sure if I have any pics. We forgot the morning of. Of course...it would have helped the vegetarians realize that the mushrooms were stuffed with sausage. As a guest I like a menu (or signs on the buffet) People need to know what they are eating I for one would never eat blindly.
  • Contrary to popular belief, menus are much more practical at a buffet than a plated meal. The reason being is that you don't have any control over what is served to you at a plated meal but with a buffet, you can read over the menu after you find your table assignment to see what is available and what to avoid for any reason (allergies, etc). It makes the lines at the buffet table go much quicker than if you didn't have any menus and people had to decide on the spot what they wanted, which is the cause of the traffic jams that everyone complains about.

It doesn't need a title since people will be able to figure it out, but you can call it whatever you want.
