Chiavari chiars AND chair covers?

The banquet manager where I'm having my reception told me that one bride alternated white chiavari chairs at one table and white chair covers at another, every other table.  She didn't have a picture though.  I am interested in doing this.  Is anyone else doing this?  Do you think that would look ok?

I agree with the pp - I like the look of just chivari chairs.

I can't really picture it.  Chiavari chairs are SO nice, I don't know why anyone would want to cover them.

I think that I'd do one or the other.  I just can't see it meshing well together....but only you have you vision of your wedding.  Do it the way you want it!

I LOVE the look of Chiavari chairs! I wish my venue had them so I wouldn't have to pay an arm and a leg to cover up their ugly banquet chairs!

I agree with pp's just do one or the other. In my opinion the chairs are so pretty you don't need to pay to cover them up.

I'd also do one or the other. I don't really get the point of alternating them -- I think it would look kind of like a hodge-podge (almost like you didn't have enough of the one kind and had to fill in with the other, not like an intentional choice).

My first thought when I read this was that she couldn't afford to have all Chiavari chairs, since they're kind of expensive to rent. That might not be the real reason but just seems odd to mix the two for any other reason than trying to cut cost.

Ok thanks for the input! I just couldn't invision it since I didn't see a picture.
Also, I wouldn't be covering the chiavari chairs, I would be covering the chairs the venue has.
I have decided to not do this the more I think about it and just go with gold chiavari chairs since gold is one of my colors.

Chiavari chairs are beautiful but expensive!  Not sure how much more expensive they are now vs when I got married but it wasn't worth the added expense to me.  Your chairs wont really show up in pictures and no one will remember what they look like if they are that much more expensive.  I used regular chairs and covered them with the ivory linen and gold rope.  It looked really nice.
