Fruit in Centerpieces

Hi Ladies!
I want to put lemon/lime/orange slices in my centerpieces, but I'm wondering how far in advance I can slice the fruit up? Does anyone have any experience with this? I was hoping to be able to have everything sliced up the night before, but I'm wondering if the fruit will go bad and look gross the next day...

  • Ya know I have wondered that myself...I am wanting to do that for my cousins bridal shower....maybe you should call a local florist/decorator and ask them for their advice...its common so I'm sure they will know.  You could also do a trial run and cut them up one night and see how long they stay good....good luck! :)
  • you might be able to soak them in something to help preserve them. I don't think they would go bad if you did them the night before by they probably won't look very fresh.

  • You can slice everything up, just don't assemble until the last minute. The acid will kill the flowers really quick. (If you can do a double case thing, slices in the first, flowers inside a second, that will help a lot too)
