  • If do a Googe Images search for midsummer night's dream wedding, you will get a lot of pretty pictures and inspiration.

  • I don't understand a theme for a wedding - the fact it is a wedding is the theme. I understand coordianting colors, flowers, centerpieces etc but not a theme. To me, themes seem like birthday party stuff.
  • Can I vote neither?  I'm with skippy on this.  Birthday parties need themes. Over indulged kids on  My Super Sweet Sixteen had themes.

IMO, the theme of a wedding is "We're getting married and we want you to celebrate with us".

A color scheme I get.  Cars?  Enchanted faerie gardens?  Don't get it.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
  • Ditto skippy and trix.

  • I like theme weddings.  I think adding a little something different to a wedding can be a good thing.

Do something that matches your personality and don't go too overboard.  Make it mostly about decor and don't make your guests do something they don't want to do (like come in costume!)

  • We are having a "theme" wedding, if you want to call it that. Rather than a church, we are getting married in the black box theater where we met performing together. We have that and Broadway playbills instead of table numbers at the reception, but that's about it. Don't go overkill or it seems silly.
  • I don't like themes either, but I a subtle midsummer night's dream theme could be nice (emphasis on the word subtle).  I mean, it's about love and flowers and magic, and they're lots of lovely quotes you could use in your decorating... I think it could work.

Having said that, I hate the idea of a stars and cars theme.   That sounds really cheesy.
