How to Make a Very Large Church Feel More Intimate

Hi all,

It looks like our ceremony will be taking place in a very large church and I would love some thoughts on how to make it feel more cozy and less cavernous.  Our 150 guests will only fill the first quarter of the pews, maybe the first third if people don't sit all the way at the outer edges.  And it's a loooong walk for the bridal party.  Any thoughts on how to make it more cozy and more "ours" on the day of the wedding?

Keep the focus on the altar area, and only decorate the front pews where guests will be sittiing.

Warm, golden lighting would make the space feel more cozy, but I don't know if that would be realistic to do.  You could have candles up by the altar at the very least.

Also, I don't think it's a bad thing that your guests will feel in awe with the size and grandness of your church!  It's very beautiful.
