Ceremony and Reception- All in one room

So...my ceremony and reception are in a loft-like space. The guests will be sitting at the reception tables during the reception. I am just trying to think of any issues or problems that might arrise due to this. So far, I'm wondering- should I leave my aisle runner down during the reception? Can I do rose petals down the aisle, or would they just cause problems during reception time? Can you think of any other things that I'm forgetting to consider? Thanks in advance!

Re: Ceremony and Reception- All in one room

  • I'm also planning on having both the ceremony and reception in the same place (an art gallery). We are still working on seating ideas (the wedding isn't until December, so I have time), but I am thinking about having tables set up in a way that the guests can see the ceremony and then we wouldn't have to flip the room for the reception. I'm not sure yet though. We may also have tables set up in the back, with chairs up front for the ceremony, then have the caterers (or whoever) move the chairs quickly while we greet the guests.
I probably won't have an aisle runner, though if we did, I feel like it would be awkward for people to walk around/over/etc during the reception, so I would probably have it removed.
    Good luck!
