I saw it on platinum weddings once, but am not doing it for mine.

Yes, I am having a cigar bar. The top floor of the mansion where we are having our reception is a smoking room/cigar bar. We aren't hiring a cigar roller as the expense is too high. However, we are going to offer various cigars. I believe our plan is to also offer a whiskey bar up there as well. We haven't completely planned this out yet, but I should have more details in the next few weeks.

My DH wanted to hire a cigar roller, but it was just too expensive.  It would've been perfect b/c my ballroom had an adjoining terrace. Keep in mind that a cigar bar will cause all the guys to leave the dance floor.  Also, even if the smoking is limited to an enclosed space, the residual odor may be offputting to some of your guests. In lieu of a cigar roller, my friend had a groom's cake made to look like an open cigar box.  It was very cute.

i have no idea! i was hoping someone would have some advice for me...it looks like the best option would be to buy cigars on our own and then have my venue set up a table outside on the terrace for them. i'm not sure how many i would need and how expensive it would be though...

Does your venue have a day of coordinator? Mine is setting up things that aren't orig. with my package, maybe ask if they have done this before.

I'm working with my Wedding Planner/DOC to help with this. Also, most of the cigar shops are experienced and will be able to help you know how many cigars to buy and what kind. If you come across any pictures of cigar bars that you can share, I would love to see. I would be glad to do the same for you. My email is jpwed09 at yahoo dot com.
