Venue room color

How much thought should I put into how my colors match the decor of the reception room? It's unfortunately yellow and navy with lots of artwork....it was the only place we could afford so I'm gonna have to work with it. Problem is i want my colors to be pink and green. The onside coordinator/events manager said she's had events with those centerpiece colors and it was nice. Idk if I believe her. The one good thing is the room flows to a large covered outdoor deck overlooking a marina so I can definitely decorate the outdoor space a ton (lots of high tops and random tables). Should I rethink colors or just go with it? Also, the chairs are hideous and chair covers are like 700 as they charge $5 each for "installation". Any tips for that? I'm not too worried once ppl are sitting in them but at first glance they're just not cute(mauve color banquet chairs). The church has a lot of tan and blue too so.... I'm worried my colors won't work with anything.... But I love them so! Gonna try to do a lot of pics outside the church and in the deck at reception so it might not be an issue. Le sigh

Use the colors you want.  The venue we chose is neautral with the exception of the hideous seafoam color paint below the chair rails.  No way would I try to match and coordinate that.  But once the room is decorated, I highly doubt anybody will be noticing the walls.

Use what ever colors you want.  Don't feel like you need to match your room.  Our ceremony space has white walls and red carpet while our reception space has tan walls and green/red/yellow carpet.  It would be very frustrating to coordinate to all of those colors!

what about if you brought your own seat covers... ? I forgot the website but there is one on here everyone uses and its like $2-$3 each

Are you allowed to bring in an outside decorator? $5 is steep for chair covers, my decorator is doing them for $2.50 each including installation, and I got a choice of three styles.
