Chair covers and sashes

So my venue has square banquet chairs.  With a chair cover on it, will a satin sash not hold because it has nothing to grip onto?  FI likes the satin over the organza.  I'm about to order while the sale is goin on tableclothsfactory, so I can't test one out in advance.  Wondering if anybody has experience with the two.

What I have seen when I have been to weddings is that no matter the fabric type, the sashes never stay in place.  Once people sit down and throw their jackets over the chairs and start moving around the sashes slip and move all around.  I understand wanting a nice look but after about 30 minutes everything is messed up.

As for trying to keep them in place, just try to have your venue people tie them as tight as they can.

I was going to say the same thing as PP.  Sewing pins should help keep it in place, and the ones with pearl tops won't stand out too much.
