Mixing Centerpieces

In order to reduce the number of floral centerpieces at my reception, I want to use some candle centerpieces too.  I am thinking of doing every other table with the floral centerpieces, and the others with hurricane lanterns and candles.  How can I tie in some of my colors with the candle centerpieces so that it doesn't look too bare?  My colors are light blue, green and white...Thanks!!

I would use rose petals in your colors around the candles.

  • That's exactly what we did.  Every table had silk rose petals, a mirror, and votive candles.  Half the tables had the vase and floral centerpiece on top of the mirror and the other half had a hurricane vase with a candle.  It looked beautiful and saved us a lot of money.  Pics in married bio and planning bio is linked there too (in signature).

  • I'm also doing this, using black lanterns, colored sand (in my colors) inside the lantern with tall thick candles in the middle of the sand! Hope this helps

  • All very nice ideas, but they don't HAVE to match.  Sometimes less is more.  Simple hurricane lamps with an ivory or white candle alone can be simple yet elegant.  there will be enough color from the flowers on the other tables.
  • you can have marbles, fruit, any type of food- jelly beans even under the candles for color.
