Say yes to the venue?

Ok, I have a dilemmaI found a beautiful venue that overlooks the water through panoramic windows, large dance floor, and it's reasonably affordable. My concern is that it's a restaurant with a banquet room, but the owner will not allow a buyout since our reception is small, and we probably wouldn't meet their minimum (Ia pologize for the run-on sentence).  The only interaction with other diners might be the cocktail hour (around 5:30pm) since it's in an open area or maybe when our guests would use the restrooms since the would be the same ones that the other diners would use. As a bride or guest, do you think you would care? Or am I thinking this waaay too much? Our other options are hotel ballrooms. Thanks in advance! I appreciate any comments.

Re: Say yes to the venue?

  • That wouldn't bother me much, as long as you and your FI love the place and its in your budget I say go for it. We're having our ceremony and reception on the 4th floor of a museum/historical building and the museum will be open for a couple hours while guests will be arriving and that didn't bother me very much.

  • My concern based on this would be that the venue would consider your reception insignificant compared to others simple because you have a small guest list. If you absolutely love the venue and YOU don't mind then go for it.
