Hi Knotties!
So, my FH and I are putting together our alcohol plan for our reception and need some feedback. We will have between 175 - 200 guests.
We want to do a signature cocktail - it's a glass of champagne with a shot of apple liqueur. Our caterer told us it would be $5 per drink. With the $300 we budgeted for these, that'll only get about 60 drinks (before it turns into cash bar). If we went with $300 worth of JUST glasses of champagne, we'd get about 150 drinks ($10/bottle, 5 glasses/bottle = $2/drink). Would it be weird to just offer free glasses of champagne during cocktail hour rather than a signature drink? I feel like champagne just isn't a drink that most people would prefer to have all night, but our money would go a little further.
My FH wants to do just champagne, but I'm not sure stretching our dollar is really going to be worth it. I doubt we'll even go through 150 glasses of champagne, actually.
Anyhow, just thought I'd get other opinions on this. Thanks!
