I'm getting married in May. For the reception we want to take everyone out to eat at a nice restaurant instead of doing the DJ/dancing thing. We started looking at prices and realized that it's going to be pretty expensive - which I know is to be expected. My fiance came up with an idea to invite all guests to the ceremony, and then for the reception only inviting parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles and very close friends. And then after the reception meet up with everyone to party (it's going to be in Vegas)
I think that might seem a little tacky. I think I'd be a little annoyed if I were invited to a wedding but told I couldn't go to the reception.
My fiance really views this as a great idea, but I'm having a hard time jumping on board with this. What do all of you think? Am I being too concerned with what everyone else will think?
