Okay, so, after massive meltdown issues with my FMIL, my fiance and I decided to change our plans ENTIRELY.
We intend to have a small wedding about 2 hours from where we live, minimal guests (family, and the wedding party, that's it) and then intend to go on our honeymoon. After the ceremony we will take pictures, possibly have a cocktail hour, and then a nice relaxing dinner for the guests + cake cutting. Nice and mellow, exactly the way we like it.
The weekend after the wedding, we are letting the FMIL throw a huge casual pot luck reception/party where we can still do the first dance, enjoy our time with our family and friends and the huge amount of people the FMIL threw a fit over including in the first place.
It's a win/win as far as we're concerned. BUT, I have NO idea how to word the reception only invites. We already have our invitation wording for the ceremony invites, and we still love that, but I'm at a loss as to what to do for the rest. On top of that, we are paying for the supplies and printing all our own invitations, so I'd like to try and save money where we can.
Does anyone have any advice on how to figure out the invites thing?
