hot dog cart...tacky??

Im getting married 9/15/12, in my parents backyard.  It will be a very causal event with mostly family and a few friends. (100 guests) I really want to have a local hot dog vendor come in and just serve hotdogs and chips,  my sister thinks it is tacky?  Any feed back would be appreciated!!!!!

Do you ahve any guests that have special dietary restrictions:Vegetarian. Gluten Free, Vegan

You need ot take that into consideration.

A lot of brides do a bbq thing in their backyard- and have it catererd by a BBQ company and it is very inexpensive!

I would LOVE this, but I don't think it's enough for a meal. Could you maybe add some other stuff? Make some pasta/potato salads to go along with it? Desserts?

Thanks for the suggestions everyone!  I think that I will go ahead and book it.  It is an early afternoon wedding, and here in my area at least, a full meal isn't provided at a wedding!  We normaly just do light snacks, so I think it will work out ok.  I will also be doing dips, cakes, pies and cookies... We really like sweets!!!

Since hot dogs are the one food I refuse it eat I'd hate it and be upset if that was the only thing to eat. Make sure there are other options for guests.

You need to consider providing another meat choice.  Like, maybe, Chicken on a stick?   Lots of people hate hotdogs.
