Centerpiece vases - possible to rent?

Hi everyone!  I have a question - where could I rent flower vases and glass bowls for my centerpieces?
I don't want to buy a bunch and be stuck with them after the wedding!  any insight would be welcome, thanks!

Re: Centerpiece vases - possible to rent?

  • A few thoughts:

    1) You can probably resell them much easier than you think on craigslist or these boards.
    2) Your venue may want them, either for a small charge and probably definitely for free.
    3) Check with local florists (especially wholesale ones) or party rental places but I bet it will be more expensive then going to the dollar store and buying your own.
    4) In some areas of the country I have heard it is normal for guests to expect to take the ceterpieces home. I have never heard of that until these boards (and I still find it odd people feel entitled to take a centerpiece or that it even occurs to them), but if it is normalin your area your guests may take them home and out of your hair.
  • You can probably rent them, but I agree with PP that depending on what you're looking for, you can probably find something for much less at Michaels or Tuessday Morning or someplace like that, especially if they are on sale.  Then you can try to sell them later:-)

  • are you doing the flowers/centerpieces yourself? Our florist is providing the vases and then picking them up at the venue after. Some florists do this and some do not, depending on the size/expense of the vase because sometimes the cost of sending someone back to the venue to pick up costs as much as just buying the vases...
  • Rent them! Then you don't have to deal with the hassle of trying to sell them afterwards or store them while you wait to possibly sell them. Check out mgainsdecor.com... they have candles and linens too.
