Fi and I are considering having a 1940's inspired reception. During my research I found that in the fourties cake and punch receptions were a common occurence because of the war. Fi and I are on a tight budget being that we're footing the entire bill and are considering expanding the cake-and-punch idea to an assortment of desserts/candy and possibly an ice cream bar.
We'd still like to have a nighttime reception. What is a good time frame for the reception (we're planning a garden wedding) and am I completely off base to still expect some dancing?
