Renting centerpiece supplies?

Does anyone have thoughts/recommendations of any good rental-type businesses that I could get glass bowls/vases, etc. from? I'm not looking for a place that would put the centerpiece together for me, but rather one that would allow me to rent a certain amount of a certain kind of supply. Our wedding is in the detroit-metro area.

Any other thoughts on this idea in general are welcome, too!! Thanks : )

    Welcome Jaypie!

You might want to post this on the Lansing area board (see link for local boards). However, you don't state exactly what it is you are looking for as far as volume or sizes.

In my experience (I'm an older bride who's been on the knot a while), it is possible to buy things cheaper than renting them. Many of the websites have prices for vases from $1-$5, and someone trying to make money from rentals will charge you much more than their cost.

There are multiple websites to buy glass vases & bowls in bulk

    www.lunabazaar.com
    www.dollartree.com
    www.save-on-crafts.com

If you are reluctant to buy online, I can personally recommend a store in the metro Detroit area if you ever come here. It's called Dealer's Discount Floral, you can get there by taking I-96 to I-696, getting off at the Van Dyke exit in Warren, turn right, then take a left turn at 10 Mile Rd, go about 1/4 mile and it's on your left. They don't have a website, however, they have lovely vases for $1-$3, votive candles as low as $4 for 16 or more; you can spend HOURS looking there. They also have wedding related items, silk flowers, branches, ribbon, tulle, the list goes on.

We will be buying the items for our centerpieces from a variety of sources, (flowers online), having a wedding coordinator or caterer put them together. Because I know I don't want to bother with keeping all the items, or paying anyone to take them down, we are going to put a piece of paper under one plate at each table to tell that guest they have won the centerpiece.

So, in summary, my recommendation is to buy not rent. However, if you still want to rent, try the Lansing area board

    Good luck.
