Facebook Hilarity

So, for those that remember, my boss friended me last year, I ignored the request(didn't feel like it was professional/like to keep my private home life and school life separate as much as possible) and thought that was the end of it.  2 weeks ago, she friended me again.  I felt like I couldn't ignore it again, so I accepted and promptly made her an exception on a bunch of things in my privacy settings.  This morning, in my highlights, there are pictures of her visiting her daughter at college, and she's playing beer pong.  I lost it.  It was so funny. It's funny to see my boss as a human with her own, outside of school life, doing the same things I do.. lol  Anyone else run into a similar situation?

I can't say I have...I actually have yet to even friend any of my fellow teachers in my school because, like you, I do just like to keep those things separate.  In particular I feel like revealing too much of your personal life as a teacher can be really tricky...obviously you get that :) I really just need to note, though: who played beer pong with their MOM in college?

LOL.. Heather, I KNOW!  I think that's what makes it even funnier.  Though to be fair, my principal is pretty cool that way, and I could see how it works with her and her daughters.. it just cracks me up.  2 of our other teachers have already commented on it like, "Oh my.  Looks like a new staff development activity."  lol

My friend actually has two FB profiles - one for personal and one for work.  Although, I guess she could have just set the privacy settings so that they could not see her pictures/comments, etc but it's probably easier not to have to remember.

Where I went to school, we had parents participating in much more than beer pong.  But I also went to a very liberal private college in NY, in a hippie town. =) I'm lucky, cause I'm in a profession where sloppy FB photos don't matter.  I do private my photos to my FIL though!

I love that her mom played beer pong with her! There is a totally different attitude here about teachers' personal lives, it's accepted that teachers are people too. They often have booze at parents' night, I was pretty surprised. Anyway I have a few friends from my first school here, none at this school yet.
