Centerpiece size question

Hi all!

My dad is making our centerpieces and I can not seem to find anywhere online that has a good size for a 72" round table.  The idea is that he is going to weld little metal trees with candles hanging from them and sitting in the branches (my fi is going to make the candles in our colors).  Right now we are thinking something along the size of 13" high and 16" across.  What size were other peoples centerpieces? Thanks in advance for any help!

Ours were small bubble glasses, probably with about a 12 inch diameter and only a few inches high.
  • The frame of my centerpieces are about 8" wide and 12" tall. I am putting them on table runners and a doiley and flowers underneath which will make it about 12x12. You want to make sure that it is not too high/wide that guests have to strain to see over them. If you are putting candles in them you have to concider how much taller the candles are going to be.

    Good luck
  • That is such a great idea!!! My future inlaws actually own a metal fabricating company with many tallented welders working for them. Do you have a picture of what inspired you to turn this into a DIY project? Or perhaps a diagram that you and your Dad drew up?!?? I'm really interested in possibly doing this myself.
  • The line of vision across the table is 10" tall at the lowest. Anything taller than that does obstruct vision and hinder conversations, making for a very awkward situation. That applies to anything wide as well, as you may not have much room leftover for place settings and glasses and whatnot. Your proposed centerpiece is going to be a huge hindrance to your guests. It needs to be much shorter and narrower.
