Ice sculptures a thing of the past?

Is it just me or are ice sculptures outdated? I have a friend offering to have an ice sculpture made for our wedding. I'm not sure I want to take them up on this offer.

not sure.. We had one in 2008.. It was also a martini luge and it was a big hit..  But then again my family is not really hip on the lastest trends so I might have gotten lucky they did not know it was outdated..

No all the receptions I have been looking at offer ice sculptures they are beautiful

I think it's what you do and how you incorporate it.

They are very common here in NJ.  Every reception venue we looked at offered it as part of the basic package.

I had one (Wedding was 4 months ago), but it was freebie that our venue threw in for us at the last minute. It was a nice touch, but I never would have paid for one.

Is you friend offering to do it for free as your wedding present?  If so, be gracious and take him/her up on it. You will have beautiful wedding photos.
