We loce Alice in Wonderland any ideas

I'm not sure if this would seem weird or not but the groom and I both love all things Alice. My wedding colors are light blue (like Alice's dress), white, and charcoal gray. What are some other ways to incorporate this classic in our wedding and reception?

  • It sounds like a cute idea.

I don't know the story that well. I'd just jot down a whole bunch of things "Alice" related, then figure ways to include them. I recall the Queen of Hearts, maybe have cards inserted into your centerpieces?

Search online for some really vintage Alice in Wonderland pictures and include appropriate ones in your invitations or programs? Buy a bunch of Alice in Wonderland children's books inexpensively and put them at every place setting? Have a tree on your seating chart or table card table with pictures hanging by blue ribbons with scenes from the story? Find cheap little toy gold watches on chains and drape them in your centerpieces or somewhere in the room?

I'll bet if you talked to a theater group or children's theater group in the area they could help you find props.

    Good luck.

  • I love those Mad Hatter cakes.  Maybe have one of those?
  • Your favors could be cookies that say eat me.  Or bottles of something that say drink me.  You could do centerpieces that are tea pots or tea cups with flowers in them.  Thats about all I have without being too cheesy.

  • I love Alice too! I actually collect vintage Alice books. I too teetered on the idea of an Alice themed wedding but in the end another theme won out.

Google Alice in wonderland wedding images. You'll find a lot of really cute ideas. If at all possible you should do it outside. Think garden tea party. If possible collect different china place settings, especially tea cups. Incorporate little labels on your favors that say "eat me" and on your bar say "drink me".  Your invitation lables can even say "open me" and have the wording curling into a spiral like its falling down the rabbit hole. You definitely want a mad hatter cake. You can even set up croqet for your guests to play at the reception. Your table assignments can be written on playing cards with card number being the table number and their name in the middle. You can collect vintage alarm clocks to decorate the tables. And you can get your groom a pocket watch to wear on your big day.

    Good luck!
  • Yeah, Teapots! Go to thrift shops and buy old tea pots for centerpeices! Have everybodys. Didn't The Queen have a checkered pattern floor? you could rent one like that easily! There are so many possibilties! Mad Hatter cakes are the best! You have to post pictures!
