I bought a wicker basket from Michaels and put ribbon around it.  Simple to do, easy to remove afterwards.  Here's a picture!  P.S. I did the same thing for the programs, only smaller baskets.

My co-worker had a vintage mailbox at her reception. It was utterly adorable!

I saw a bunch of creative ideas in some magazine.
One of them was to get a nice vase and have people write notes on fake flowers, petals, or small stones.
Another was to have people clip notes onto a really pretty fake floral arrangement.

I think the OP was looking for a suggestion about where people could put cards (think Hallmark wedding cards), not asking for guest book suggestions.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146

I'm using a small round birdcage that we are going to decorate with flowers. The top part is hinged and opens, so people will just drop the cards in the birdie cage!
