Anyone doing a soda bar for their reception?

I'm doing a vintage theme wedding. And we are not serving alcohol. So I absolutely love the idea of doing a vintage soda bar. Like this...

Is anyone doing this? Where are you getting your soda from? I'm working on a very strict budget so my main concern is money. Is this potentially a ridiculously expensive idea?

Need input!

  • I love that idea!

You could buy cases/bulk Jones soda at Sam's Club or Costco probably.  Or another option would be to buy regular soda like Coke and Sprite and then have the flavored syrups that your guests could use to flavor their drinks.  Maybe do a cost comparison to see which would be the cheaper route.

Nothing wrong with serving just sodas. But specialty sodas can add up very quickly and not everyone will like them as opposed to standard Coke, Sprite, root beer, Dr Pepper, etc.

I saw a picture awhile back (I want to say it was Martha Stewart or someone similar) who had vintage Coke bottles with flavored syrups and other add=ins that guests could make their own Cherry Coke or whatever flavors they wanted. That way you still are able to please the traditionalists. I think there may have been a Knottie who did something similar and said it went over quite well.
