Movie Premiere Centerpieces

We have having our wedding this July and are going with a movie premiere theme and all the glitz and glam that goes with it.  The place where we are having the reception is beautiful.  It offers round tables, lighted tree's and lighted tulle by the head table.  They also have center pieces available which you have 2 choices. You get a square mirror with a vase that either has a floating candle or you can have a flower in there.  That is the options.  The tables look nice with that, however I am thinking that I need something more.  I want the place to look stunning, so our guests get the feel of the theme.  I don't want to spend tons of money, but I would love some idea's as to what I could do to up the look a bit more.  We are having white linens with red napkins.  Our colors are silver, black and red.  We will be having a movie premiere poster which will include a picture of us and our info.  We don't have lots of extra room in the hall and the lobby is a shared lobby with another hall that will also be hosting a wedding on that side.  If anybody has any idea's....please please feel free to share.  I welcome them all.

Thanks,
Carla

Re: Movie Premiere Centerpieces

  • When we were still doing a movie premiere theme, we were going to name each table after a classic romantic movie and have a small version of the movie poster, and then have 2-3 jars of candy or gourmet popcorn in the center.  Then we'd provide the to-go boxes and people could just go around filling up.

My videographer also tracked down some scrap film stock, and we're cutting that into small curls which we'll scatter around.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • Also check Oriental Trading Company and/or local party supply stores.  We are ordering our red carpet from oriental trading and saw some fun stuff at a party supply store in their Hollywood section.

    Crosswalk
  • I was thinking red M&Ms, which you could get now. or wait til Monday for cheaper.  Freeze them, they will be fine.
