Unique non-floral centerpiece ideas?

Hello-
I'm getting married in September at a hunting lodge out in the country.  Our colors are chocolate brown and granny smith apple.  I want to keep it really rustic and originally we were leaning towards a bunch of wheat as our centerpiece but that isn't going to work.  I'm not a huge flower person so I'm looking for some non-floral ideas.  We are covering the tables in burlap runners and I already have some birch bark candles.  Any ideas would be appreciated!  Thanks!

I would definitely incorporate actual Granny Smith apples into the centerpieces. Maybe put them in a bowl and try to find some brown, glass Christmas balls to add in with them? Or maybe do something like this for a more rustic theme?

  • Oh! I really like Flipside's picture. That's a cute idea.

If you're trying for a rustic theme try something with twigs or leaves and some candles.

  • moss covered balls and pine cone balls arranged on the table or in a bowl, fern plants, moss or other plants in a terrarium (google terrarium centerpieces)

  • I'm using quart size and pint size mason jars for mine. The pint size will have floating candles. The quart size ones I am still not entirely sure about. They help with the rustic look!

  • If granny smith apple is one of your colors, you should definitely incorporate some actual apples into your centerpieces. I love the look of fruit centerpieces. They're so bright and colorful, especially against a more neutral (brown) background. You could just fill a vase up with apples or do something more creative like flipside mentioned. OR, you could have caramel apples as your centerpiece (brown AND green) and they could double as your wedding favors! :)

  • You could also do potted herbs, like these:

  • Great ideas everyone!  Thank you!!
  • Try using lanterns with candles, they are the blackish brown color that goes with your theme. then you can just put greenery around the bottem. I also like the idea of the fishbowl with apples and twigs in it.
