I posted this a couple days ago on the Music board, but haven't gotten any feedback, yet. TIA
My FI and I are having a string trio for our ceremony and cocktail hour. Then, we're doing an iTunes reception (as background music more than anything as it's a daytime garden wedding and we're not big dancers).
It is really important to my dad that he and I have a father/daughter dance. I'm ok with this, but think that then my FI and I should also have a dance, as well as he and his mom. Since we're not having a DJ, I wondered if it would be nice to choose songs that the trio could play and do our special dances that way.
Two questions:
-has anyone done it this way before? how did it work? what songs did you pick?
-I've heard it can be off-putting to have our special dances and then not open it up to all guests, does doing it via the string trio route (who leave after cocktail hour) avoid that?
