CREATIVE INSPIRATION? Non-traditional Centerpieces

My fiance and I are getting married in October 2011... we camp and hike frequently and LOVE using our WI State Park permit as much as we can each year. We've visited State parks all over the country, and we got engaged in a state park in Maine.  I had the idea to name our tables after various state and national parks that are special to us.  I'd also like to incorporate photos of us at the parks and maybe a little blurb about the time we spent there.
I'm nervous now that they're nothing like a traditional centerpiece, and I'm wondering if it's tacky to have photos of us plastered all over the place when it's already a day all about us.
Input?  Ideas?  Maybe I'll add some votive candles and autumn leaves around for looks... if not a bad idea - I need help thinking of a creative way to display the table names and photographs....

  • Maybe you could make a small phototree for every table.

Make centerpieces using leaves and tree branches as well as some fall flowers maybe, then tie the photos to the branches. You can use the map as a base to put the photo tree on then incoporate other objects from hikes you may have gone on.

The day is all about you, but its also about your journey and its cool to let guests be able to be part of that journey by showing pictures of the past. Use the map and maybe pieces of leaves glued down to the map paper in the shape of the number, or like acorns, or use branches to make the table numbers and what not. There are a lot of options.

My fiance and i started out with a vintage country theme, so those were ideas i had thought about. only using quilt patterns not maps.
Ha! I figured this out! Now i have no idea what to put here, but it has been figured out... success!
