Reception Seating For Vendors

Since our photographer and DJ will be eating at the reception I'm wondering where would they sit for their meal?  I certainly don't expect them to stand against the wall and eat their meal but I'm not sure how this works exactly. Anybody have suggestions?

Re: Reception Seating For Vendors

  • Our DJ ate at his spot with his equipment.  Our photographers and DOC ate at a bar table in the cocktail area.

I would ask the venue where they normally seat vendors to eat, and go from there.

The venue probably has a designated area for vendors to eat, ask them.

  • Our venue also had a special spot for the vendors.  It was out of the reception room and was a great place for them to leave any extra things they brought (such as extra camera equipment).

  • We asked our vendors which meal they preferred (our venue offered the same meal as our guests or a boxed meal with a sandwich and pasta salad).  Both of our vendors opted for the boxed meal since it could be eaten quicker and at their 'posts'.  The DJ sat behind his booth and ate, and our photographers took turns (we had two) going into our cocktail space to eat at a high top table.

Your venue probably has a designated plan for vendor meals since it's something they likely encounter at every event.  Ask your venue/vendors how they prefer to handle their meal time.
