Guest Book

I was wondering. We're having a signature photo mat at our reception. Do we still need to have a guest book for everyone to sign or is the photo mat suppose to take its place? TIA!

Re: Guest Book

  • I would say that the signature mat would take the place of the traditional guest book. That's what we've decided to do, because we'd rather have the memories of everyone at our wedding hanging up on the wall to see then in a book that would end up being stored away. HTH!
  • Thanks Summer! That's what I thought too but I'm just hoping everyone will fit onto the mat.

  • You could always get two mats.   And then you will have two coordinating photo frames on your wall.  (they most likely won't match the rest of your deco anyway)

  • It also depends on the size of the mat. If you get one with a 5 or 6 inch boarder that should give your guests more room. Although I would suggest two or even three so that guests aren't waiting as long to sign it. Plus, if you get different sizes (I.e. one large and two small) you have the start of a cute little collection. Or you could do an individual picture of each of you and a couple's photo. There's lots of options.

If, on the off chance you also want to do the guest book, get a generic one and then keep it for other parties. Then you can write the event at the top of the page and start collecting names from multiple events. Just imagine what it might look like by your 25th anniversary!
