So we are having our wedding at a private estate that doesn't mind us bringing in our own alcohol which means saving tons of money. We really want an open bar for the majority of the evening, with perhaps only beer and wine for the last hour or so to give our guest the opportunity to sober up. Now we need to figure out what alcohol to serve. Should we make a drink menu and stock up on everything required for it, or should we buy lots of different alcohol and mixers and have people order whatever they want?
We are planning on a wedding of about 100 (ranging from 120 to 80) but we are still in the early stages of planning. We will probably hire 1 or 2 bartenders, depending on the final number of guests.
Suggestions? Ideas? If we do a drink list, what do you think is a must have? We are on a budget, but we figure we will save so much by not paying catering prices that we can splurge a little.
