This blew my mind.

I cannot believe what I just heard yesterday...My good friend JD got engaged two weeks before me, but is planning a wedding for summer of 2011. She went dress shopping with her mother and her sister (who is also the MOH) yesteday.  The entire time the sister was complaining about being there and at one point actually tried on a wedding dress herself- AND MADE PEOPLE TAKE PICTURES OF HER.There is a lot more history behind this- for some reason the younger sister is the golden child, but is totally immature and self centered.  I had to hand it to JD- if that was my sister, I would have slapped the ever-lovin' wee out of her. You're really going to steal the spot light while your sister is trying on wedding dresses?  Who does that???LB

Yeah, sounds a little self-absorbed. Your friend seems like she's been dealing with it for awhile and can blow certain things off. Almost a lot of brides stresses at one point and that is when she may get some words in. lol. Anywho, yeah, she sounds like a peach.

That's just awful!!!!When my sister tried on dresses, 2005, she was stuck between two dresses. Soooo, they had me put one on and stand right next to her, so she could compare both on someone... so I wore a dress when my sister was trying them on too :-), but, for a different reason! And I felt really awkward doing it...

My sister tried on dresses when I went. I don't see what the big deal is. Its a dress and some pictures. Sounds like someone is just jealous of the other sister.

PhillyCop, what the big deal is the younger sister is trying to steal the spotlight from the older sister.  She can't stand to let her have the attention because she is so self absorbed.Last I heard JD kicked her sister out of the wedding.  I applaud her, but I doubt it will last more then a week.

I guess there are two different situations: a sister who is self-absorbed and trying to take the spotlight and the other who has a great relationship with her sister and is not selfish and tries on a dress or two.

I would have been pissed.  My sister is 5'9 with a smokin' bod.  I have neither height nor smokin' bod going for me, so if she would have put on a dress, I might have cut her.

I don't have any sisters, but if my cuz(MOH) tried on a gown, I def would have felt slighted.

I don't have any sisters, but it would NEVER cross my mind to try on a wedding dress if I was shopping for someone else.  I guess it's not a problem if you have that kind of relationship that you can laugh about it, but JD's sister isn't like that.  She's basically an attention hoe.
