ice cream sunday bar

Is anyone doing an ice cream sunday bar? Does anyone know where I could get all the toppings prechopped, cut, or packaged? Any ideas on this would be great!

Re: ice cream sunday bar

  • We had an ice cream bar but it was provided by our reception hall. You could probably get all the toppings from a wholesale club like Costco or BJs whatever you have in your area.
  • I'd post on your local Colorado board to see if they have any recommendations.

We are thinking of this as well. Personally, as a DIY-er, I'd just buy up a bunch of nuts, m&m's or whatever candy toppings you want, and break them up myself. Put them in a large baggie, hit with a meat pounder or hammer until they are broken up, put in another bag, and save. It should keep a couple of weeks.

If you have any candy or cake decorating bulk-type stores around you, you can get the sprinkles there.

    Good luck.
  • I had this for a high school graduation reception.  We ended up just going to a wal-mart and getting everything there.  If things needed to be chopped we ended up doing it ourselves.  (Although, there wasn't that much to chop except maybe oreo pieces, and that was pretty easy).

If you want something cute - those little mini bananas they sell?  Very cute for sundaes - just make sure there is a knife or something close by to cut them open because sometimes they are a little stubborn.

We used a soft serve ice cream machine (called around and found someone that rented them).  It make the day much easier - no scooping involved!

I know that was more information that you wanted...but...just thought I would throw that out there. :)
