We are having a small wedding, with about 65-70 guests (all close family and friends). Our ceremony will begin at 1030 am on a Saturday. It's a civil ceremony, and will be relatively short (20 minutes I would imagine?). We haven't decided if we should have a cocktail hour or not. Originally, we were planning on having one between the ceremony and reception to get some pictures taken and so our guests can check out the rest of the museum (there's 9 buildings in total and we're using 2), however some knotties have suggested we should do the photos after the reception instead since we're having an earlier wedding.
Our reception will be a brunch buffet. We're skipping most of the traditional stuff -garter toss, first dance, etc (there's no dance floor and there won't be any dancing at all). We're on the fence about having speeches and a cake cutting. There likely won't be any alcohol either. It's basically going to be eating, mingling, and enjoying each other's company.
What time could I expect guests to start filtering out with and without the cocktail hour? We're leaving for our honeymoon on the same day by car and I need to estimate how far we'll be able to drive that night so I can book a hotel.
Thanks!
