Derby Ideas

I'm trying to help my best friend choose dresses for her derby themed wedding which is, of course on Derby Day (this May 1).

I've checked all over google and only found a couple of inspiration boards. Does anyone have any ideas?

If your friend likes the hat idea, maybe start with picking out the hat first and have that be your inspiration for the dress.  Just google derby hats, and if you find a couple in the same colors, maybe have each bridesmaid pick out their own hat that they love, and have your friend decide on a color of dress that goes with the style of the hat.  Keep in mind that derby hats are usually big, and showy, but DEFINITELY fun!

Have the bridal party and the couple introduced into the reception with "My Old Kentucky Home."

Mint juleps are a must.

Use nothing but roses in the floral arrangements and bouquets.
