Toast at the Reception

I have a question about toasting...

We are not having a wedding party, but the venue provides a champagne toast. Do I ask someone to do the toast or is that just something that happens?  We also want to give a toast to thank friends and family...so when do we do this? And then when do we cut the cake?  Before or after the toast?

Thanks!

Re: Toast at the Reception

  • The groom can toast to his new bride and thank all the guests for coming.
  • I was thinking that usually toasts just happen...but you go to weddings where people have a poem or something prepared.  And then on here I have seen people asking for advice on what they should have others to read.  So I was just confused.
