HELP! Country themed wedding!

Ok so here it goes!
Wedding details.
Budget-no "Buget" but i wanna do things INEXPENSIVE (bc inexpensive doesnt have to look cheap), i am very DIY!
Guest count-200
Reception only
Date- March 2.nd 2013
I want a buffet.
Location- Northern illinois-southern Wisconsin.
My wedding is VERY country!

Problem- I had a venue that was perfect for my theme (Arabian knights farm) as was ready to place a deposit and stopped hearing from them. Never returned my calls or emails. Then a friend went to a wedding there and had nothing but bad things to say about it, actually calling it the worst wedding theyve ever been to because of the venue. SO ive moved into finding another venue.
On the hunt for somthing that i can work with my theme, or at least be decorated to fit the theme. That doesnt cost an arm and a leg and can hold 200 people and a buffet!
Looking forward to suggestions!
Thank you!

  • I would at least set up a loose budget to work off of. Things will add up faster than you think. The first time I went through listing how much I thought everything would cost, it was WAY more than what I originally envisioned, so I went back and cut corners.
I would also suggest looking through your local boards and asking for suggestions on vendors that the girls over there recommend.
    Good luck!

This.  DH and I wound up increasing our budget by 30% by the time all was said and done.  Little things that you don't think about add up.

</div><div>This is a very dangerous way to go about it. And I'll give you a little  personal experience here. My FI and I set up a very loose budget based on what we thought we could save and get together. After a few car and house troubles, that seriously was eaten into, we're at the wire, and we're going to be fine, but it's been incredibly stressful and I feel like my heart is eating itself daily. We kept putting off sitting down and writing down all of the little expenses (vases for tables, hair and make-up, hotel for our wedding night, parking attendant) that add up at the end, and I really wish we had done that back when we were putting together the budget for big things.  If I could go back, I would have set a much harder and lower limit so that we could have gone over a little.</div><div>
</div><div>Definitely get concrete ideas, especially before you start paying venues because if you don't have a budget idea you could end up spending half of your money on one thing. </div><div>
