Hi all, newly engaged here and feeling a bit out of my depth. I'm anxious to start site-hunting and settle on a venue ASAP because FI and I are hoping to get married next October and I know a lot of places book at least a year out. To that end, I've got my mom, godmother and MOH coming into town next weekend to help FI and I scout. I have four places I'd like to call and set up appointments for, and I'm wondering if it will be feasible for us to see all four on the same day while my family is visiting.
So my questions for you are, how long do you think it takes to check out a venue and get a good feel for it without feeling rushed? How long did it take you to pick a site? And about how long did you spend looking at each?
Any other random advice that you feel would be helpful in this process is welcome as well. My mom and godmother are very knowledgeable about this sort of thing and I'll be relying heavily on their input, but I myself feel like I have no idea what I'm doing. Other than what the lists in my planner say to do, LOL. Thanks in advance!
