  • If the banquet chairs are reasonably comfortable, why bother with the expense of chivari chairs?

We draped a ceiling in a hall for a friends wedding.  You will need someone who is good on a ladder and fabric with some give to it.  We used a linen-look fabric from a fabric factory outlet.

This exactly.  I would only pay for the chivari chairs if your existing chairs were ridiculously hideous, or unbearably uncomfortable.  I thought about getting them for our reception, but it would be another $800 that would be better spent on more important things for guests, like food or alcohol.  Your guests will appreciate good music, food, and drink more than they will pretty chairs to sit on.
